 Founded
in 1994, BSC
- Business Support Center operates
in all major areas of business support and development,
strategy, human resource management and leadership,
regional and industrial development, corporate social
responsibility and community development.
March,
1994
Armenian Foundation for Small and Medium Enterprises
(AFSME) was founded within the framework of European
TACIS program.
May, 1995 Armenian
Business Support Center (ABSC) was founded as a result
of a merger of AFSME and Business Communication Center
(BCC) established by TACIS.
July, 1998 The organization
became a private, self-financing company providing consulting
and training services and was renamed to Business Support
Center (BSC).
BSC
carries out its activities all over Armenia (Yerevan,
RA regions) and Nagorno-Karabagh.
The company implements projects also in the Caucasus
region. BSC has demonstrated tangible achievements during
the sixteen-year period of its existence (1994-2010):
BSC has implemented
over 850 trainings, seminars and
other educational programs for more than 10,000 representatives
of private and public sectors, international organizations
and communities.
BSC has developed
over 450 business and investment
plans and proposals for Armenian and foreign
companies, as well as proposals for international organizations.
BSC has implemented
nearly 55 major research and baseline
studies and analyses for several sectors of industry
in different regions.
BSC has organized
15 long term educational programs,
trainings and seminars in Tbilisi, Marneuli, Rustavi
and Sukhumi (Georgia, Abkhazia). The objective
of the programs was development of the capacity of public,
private and business sectors.
BSC has organized
trainings for local government
officials working in 38 cities of Armenia in
the framework of the Local Government Development
project implemented by RTI with financing of USAID.
BSC, in the framework
of DAI-ASME (USA) project financed by USAID, has provided
trainings, seminars and consulting
services aimed at developing professional skills and
knowledge of representatives of regional business centers.
BSC has supported
the establishment of 8 business
centers in Syunik and Tavush regions of Armenia
within the framework of IFSP and FRSC projects of German
GTZ organization.
BSC has supported
the project implemented by UMCOR and named Foundation
of agricultural associations and cooperatives
on the basis of which the Federation of Agricultural
Associations was established in 2002.
BSC has invested
efforts in building awareness of CSR
concepts among private enterprises and NGOs
in Armenia.
