EU4Youth: Employability and Stability in Armenia, Belarus and Ukraine

The second cycle of the project of “EU4Youth: Employability and Stability in Armenia, Belarus and Ukraine” founded by European Union and co-founded by Austrian Development Cooperation has started. BSC Business Support Center with joint efforts of SOS Children's Villages Armenia are implementing the project. The project enables young people from Yerevan and Idjevan to identify and develop their business potential, discuss their business ideas and develop business plans with continuous expertise from BSC Business Support Center. In addition to being an informal education platform for participants, the Project enables them to receive mini-grants and establish relevant enterprises developed in a framework of the Project, in a competitive base.

The project of "EU4Youth: Employability and Stability in Armenia, Belarus and Ukraine" is in the second cycle. Worth mentioning that in 2018 it was successfully implemented in Yerevan, as a result of which 14 young people have received knowledge, skills, social capital to improve their quality of life. 4 out of 14 participants, whose business plans were more promising, will receive a 4000-euro grant from the European Union and the Austrian Development Cooperation for investment in winning business concepts and establishing corresponding businesses.

Currently, the Project is in Idjevan. There were 80 young people from Ijevan and adjacent communities applying for the Project. The selection of the participants was initially based on the documents, and then on interview results, by the program-approved criteria. A total of 20 young people are involved, including 7 beneficiaries of the SOS Children's Villages Armenia. On May 20-23, Samvel Gevorgyan, the founding director of the BSC Business Support Center, has conducted knowledge-based and practice training with the Project participants.

BSC Business Support Center appreciates the European Union and the Austrian Development Agency for efforts to improve competitiveness and capacity building in Armenia's labor market and business environment.
